The EEOC announced today that it won’t renew the controversial “Component 2” pay data collection portion of the EEO-1 report, according to a notice in the Federal Register.  The agency states the burden of data collection has been higher than previously estimated, as well as the ‘unproven’ utility of pay data, as reasons for discontinuing the requirement.  EEOC says additional examination is required before seeking White House approval for more pay collections.

This decision will not change this year’s requirement to report “Component 2” information prior to the September 30th deadline.
